High Performance Interface
The Quick Universal Interface Connector (QUIC®) is a low-insertion force pneumatic output panel that allows simultaneous connection of 1,200 (or more) switching points with the activation of a single pneumatic switch.
The QUIC design substantially reduces the connection time associated with FACT test systems. Additionally, QUIC connections are a fast way to separate the FACT analyzer from the product under test to allow troubleshooting or to increase test throughput by using the analyzer for other jobs while the failed product is being repaired.
Module Construction
The QUIC assembly 17600 includes an integral shelf to support the interface connectors, 20 60-pin connections for a total of 1,200 test points, and six air switches to control the pneumatic actuators.
The assembly includes 40 pneumatic actuators (20 on the front and 20 on the rear) of the module. This allows the QUIC to interface directly to the FACT switching module.
The actuators can be controlled in groups of four connectors each or 240 test points. A control switch is provided for each group of four connectors.
The QUIC assembly requires an air regulator to provide the required pressure to the pneumatic actuators (typically 25 PSI).
Reduced Maintenance
QUIC extends the life of the interface connectors due to the low insertion force of each connector. This permits rapid connection in preparation for a test as well as fast disconnection to diagnose reported error conditions.
Interface to Unit Under Test
A connector block consists of four connectors each of a printed circuit board with card edge connectors. This allows up to 240 test points in each set of adapters.
Each connector is spaced on 0.875” centers. The frontal registration plate permits 0.250” lateral deviation (both directions) from connector center to minimize cable insertion time.

FACT Connector
DIT-MCO's Special Products Group is the sole manufacturer of the FACT-type connector seen here. This 60-pin FACT-II style card edge connector is packaged in a rugged stainless steel enclosure. The connector contacts are made from beryllium copper to ensure superior mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and resistance to wear and corrosion. The enclosed connector provides high performance with minimal chance of damage to the connector. These features ensure reliable electrical contact and long life compared to pin-and-socket implementations.
