Prepare for your test
DIT-MCO offers a full range of software applications to help you write your test programs. TestEdit® and TestAssistant® II are powerful Windows™-based tools programs that simplify the test programming process. Add-on tools, such as Automatic Program Generator (APG), WIRESORT and language translators save you time by allowing you to use your existing engineering data.
To prepare your engineering wire list, use WIRESORT. It sorts and organizes wire lists with non-contiguous nets. Or to format existing data for use by DIT-MCO’s test system, use the language translators. And since DIT-MCO test systems come ready to work on a dedicated or networked workstation, you’ll make efficient use of your programming time.
To start programming right away use easy to learn TestEdit. This text editor saves you time by eliminating tedious programming steps. Point and click dialog boxes virtually write commands, modes, and parameters. It does away with typing errors and the need for memorization of cryptic programming code. Enjoy the side-by-side, linked display of your Address Correspondence Table (ACT) with your test program, on-line syntax checking, and address cross-checking to ensure assignment of product definitions and commands.
Take programming a step beyond by minimizing repetitive or needless data entry. TestAssistant II revolutionizes the traditional test development process by creating your test program, ACT file, as well as interface cable design and hook up instructions. To do this, TestAssistant II stores product connector definitions in a parts library to use again and again.
You can even bypass manually typing your test program from scratch. Just connect a known good UUT to your DIT-MCO test system and choose the self-programming mode to generate your test program. Or use the optional Automatic Program Generator with your engineering wire list to automatically create test programs.
Run your test program
You don’t have to be a programmer to use DIT-MCO’s cable test systems. The easy to use control program steps you through a series of choices. You can even read in bar codes to access the correct product names. Or test several identical products using just one tester by assigning each their own switching address space. This menu driven system keeps operations simple without sacrificing the functionality or flexibility you need while running a test.
This flexibility is essential in your test system so you can meet your specific requirements even when they change. DIT-MCO’s programming language provides over 90 test directives and mode commands so you have complete control over the test process. You can easily manipulate test stimulus and limit values, collect input from operators, dictate the content and look of error reports and much more.
You’ll also find functions to minimize human errors. For instance, to ensure you use the right version of a test program, the checksum function assigns unique identifiers to each program. No more accidentally using old or unauthorized test programs.
Other functions ease your workload. For programs or manual rework, take advantage of Product Language Lookup (PLL). Using PLL, you can enter test instructions in your UUT’s nomenclature (e.g., J01 pin A) rather than the tester’s addresses. The on-the-fly translation substitutes the correct analyzer address for the test.
Analyzing your results
DIT-MCO systems use a battery of software to let you know exactly where to find faults in your product. This allows you to identify problems and recommend changes to the design and/or manufacturing process. You’ll improve your product quality, speed up throughput, and impact your bottom line.
When it comes to finding and repairing faults, nothing speeds up the process as a picture of a fault on a wired assembly. DIT-MCO’s Fault Locator enhances a standard error report by portraying the location of faults relative to their position on your cable assembly. You can print out the illustration from Fault Locator and attach it to the failed product to simplify and speed up repairs. Now you can eliminate second-guessing or dependence on the person who “knows” the wired assembly.
Your DIT-MCO software even goes an extra step in the analysis of errors. Utilizing the latest in test software, DIT-MCO’s TestStats takes you from merely reporting errors to utilizing this information to improve processes and control costs. This unique package allows you to determine root causes of errors allowing you to fine tune production processes and prevent future failures.
DIT-MCO provides all the tools you need to make your test development process fast and efficient.
