What is a DC HiPot test?

A DC HiPot, or dielectric withstand voltage test, applies high DC voltage to verify wire and insulation integrity. It is intended to detect cuts, nicks, loose strands, arcing, or inadequate dielectric strength. The manual recommends no-scan testing because arcs may not be repeatable and repeated testing could become destructive.
