Summary Function:

Provides assembly and technical assistance, training, and schedule direction for EMMS projects or DIT-MCO production departments.


Works under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor. Position requirements include: The ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions. One year of previous electronics assembly experience or completion of three to six months of training. Proven aptitude in the use of automated manufacturing machines or equipment; the ability to perform repetitive tasks; good leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate with staff and supervisors. Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems is required. Previous electronic assembly experience and High School diploma or GED is required.

Essential Functions:

Guide and direct other production assemblers on technical aspects of fabrication for special projects or routine production activities. Assists the production supervisor with scheduling issues. Performs assembly and direction to others of electronic parts using hand tools and assembly machines. May perform higher level assembly tasks and training of others on the operation of wire processing machines, test analyzers, wave solder machines, braiding and taping machines.

Information for assembly and direction of others will be provided from instructions on engineering drawings, work instruction sheets, process plans, wire lists, military specifications, customer supplied drawings & specifications, or other written or verbal instructions. Performs one or more of the following assembly functions: DIT-MCO units, cables or printed circuit boards, EMMS chassis, wire harness, and panel assemblies. Includes functions such as mechanical assembly, cutting wire, pulling cables, installation of terminals on wires (crimping), wiring connectors, loading PCA’s with components, and hand soldering PCA’s.

Additional Responsibilities:

Performs other functions as requested by management.

Physical Requirements:

Must be a motivated self-starter capable of multi-tasking while maintaining standards for quality and quantity. Good eye/hand coordination and vision is required. Ability to sit and or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
