Sheet Metal Worker 

Summary Function:

Responsibilities include set up and operation of equipment in the metal shop which may include welding and all hand tools.

Requirements:

Works under the supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Position requirements include the ability to follow written/verbal instructions; read and write in English; use simple arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions; knowledge of bend allowances; ability to read precision measuring equipment; must understand engineering drawings; knowledge of basic shop operation and safety; technical degree or applicable experience is required.

Essential Functions:

Fabrication of sheet metal parts with the use of a shear, Wiedeman punch, time saver metal prep machine, press break, and a PEM nut machine. Fabrication may also include hand sanding and grinding, also may be responsible for mig, tig and spot welding. Be able to fabricate parts from engineering drawings, sketches, or verbal instruction. Must also be able to maintain records of time, material, and quality of part produced. Prototyping of sheet metal part is also a function.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting, stooping, bending, walking, good hand/eye coordination, ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
