Quality Inspector

Job Summary

Performs a variety of functions with a strong emphasis on improvement of current systems, methods and product quality.  Inspect, test, sort, sample processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma – or the equivalent (for example, GED).
  • Post-Secondary Education in related field.
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Specific and related manufacturing operations and procedures.
  • Quality inspection/assurance experience.
  • Aerospace and/or electronic manufacturing a plus.

Skills

  • Experience on PC – Microsoft office suite (Work, Excel, etc.).
  • Proven math skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills verball and written.
  • Ability to properly deal with sensitive key information discretely and confidentially.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Basic understand of blueprints, schematics, customer drawings, quality clauses and contracts.

Work Context

  • Good or corrected vision.
  • Lifting, bending, walking, ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Mobility and full dexterity.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to function in fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, work on multiple job functions and deal with stressful situations.

Primary Job Duties<

  • Performs accurate and timely final audits of product and documentation, and conducts periodic internal audits as dictated by QA Management.
  • Maintains document control in conformance with the quality system.
  • Schedule and performs – receiving and inspection of incoming material, in-process inspections, and final inspections for products.
  • Plans, organizes, and schedules internal inspections or product.
  • Controls and administers calibrated equipment.
  • Performs failure analysis of defective product and some correction action implementation.
  • Creates technical quality system work instructions, operation sheets and assembly inspection plans.
  • Oversee and instruct process improvement on the Production line.
  • Review and update process plans.
